Freedom's
Way
Flowers red, Bodies drowned, In a
sea of tears, Their souls be bound.
Vigor and demise come as
one, As in the air lies the scent of the gun, Is it the end of the
world as we know it, Are we done?
Macabre horror this place once
was, Perilous battlefield this place once was, Engulfed in war the
world once was, Fought for us this war once was.
Gone forever, but
may it not be forgotten, We ate fruit while they ate mutton, This is a
retrospection, Of their collaboration in Canadian
liberation.
